Gestastinal Diabetes

There are so many people preganat at my work about 16 are on the "pregnancy board" due between april 2008 and may 2009, of course many have already had their babies.
These are two of my coworkers. Elicia is due two weeks after me and Natasha is due 5 weeks before me. I think we are 29, 31, and 36 weeks in this picture.

On December 4th I had to take the 3 hour glucose tolerance test because I had failed the 1 hour which I took before thanksgiving. I also failed the 3 hour so this week I had to meet with the diabetes counselor who started me on a special controlled carb diet. I have to check my blood sugar in the morning, before meals, 2 hours after meals, and at bedtime. This turns out to be about 7 times a day. So far the blood sugars have been where they want them as long as I follow the diet.

baby's room

We finally started painting the baby's room today. We have had the paint for a while but we just got around to painting. It is a light blue - not very original I know, but hopefully it will turn out well.

Over Columbus Day weekend Chris, the dogs, and I went down to Branson, MO with my parents to go to Silver Dollar City. We stayed in the RV.

corn maze

I have always wanted to go to the corn mazes and this is the first opportunity I got to go. Chris, Becki, Tucker, Jenn, and I went to the Liberty Corn Mazes. The theme this year was a tribute to the Kansas City Zoo. It was fun but it got boring and other people there got annoying after awhile. Tucker was the one that was smart enough to figure out the map and get us out of the mazes easily, so we mostly just followed him around.

It's a boy

17 weeks 5 days ultrasound shows its a boy. I had an u/s a little over a week ago that the tech thought it was a boy but wasn't sure if the umbilical cord was getting in the way. This week he's definitely a boy!
